The spiral grooves pattern is hand engraved.
Producing such bottles is a two steps process. First, the glass master picks up in the oven the necessary quantity of crystal glass with a blowpipe. He then mouth blows the liquid glass into a mould. Once the gross shape is cooled manual grinding and engraving take place using rotating mechanical tools. The crystal brillance is then restored through acid baths.
